Kim Silver – Founder of Baby Boogie and now Boogie Productions has been singing and dancing on stage since age four, she began her professional career in 1995 after graduating from Wits University, South Africa with a Degree in Music majoring in voice and performance.
Kim was involved in many Musical Theatre productions playing the leading role as well as many Cabaret shows in South Africa, Her biggest performance in Musical Theatre was playing the role of Frenchy in the International Stadium Spectacular of “Grease”.
From 1995-1998 Kim was offered the position of lead vocaliste of one of South Africa’s top dance acts called “BC Dance”, signed up with EMI/Virgin Records, releasing 5 hit singles, of which two were released in Japan and Europe. With BC Dance, she got the opportunity of performing as the support act to “The Spice Girls” for Prince Charles and Nelson Mandela’s “Two Nations In Concert” Show at JHB Stadium. She was part of BC dance until the band split and she went on her own as a soloist.
From 1998, Kim joined a Cover band as their lead vocaliste, performing at many private functions. She also freelanced with various bands and dance groups for many big corporate functions.
She opened her own Dance School ” Kim Silver School of Song and Dance” for children, which she built up to being very successful with over 100 kids.
She emigrated to Sydney Australia in 2003 , where she settled and had a family, she opened her Dance school in Sydney in 2004. In 2007, her love and passion for kids drove her record and release a kids album called Kim and Kaboodle with well known singer & songwriter Wendy Fine, which has been a success amongst the Eastern suburbs preschoolers. In 2009 Kim found herself performing her CD with preschoolers and found her passion working with little ones, she decided to open Baby Boogie for toddlers to come and learn how to sing, dance and perform. She developed a class that captures kids attention as young as 20 months to follow instruction and develop a love for dance and music.
She launched Baby Boogie at Brent Street performing arts school as well as taught some of the twinkles classes under Petites Department for a year , She was also asked to run the kids dance parties at Brent Street. In 2013, she then moved to Bondi Junction at her own studios, where she runs Baby Boogie (ages 20 months to 3yrs) and Kindy Boogie ages (3-5yrs). She She continues to run the kids dance parties which she now does under Boogie Productions at various venues around Sydney.
Her latest development is getting involved with various DJ’s, professional dancers and other amazing party ideas for teens to have a Boogie Productions Party, where she can source anything from your dancers, lighting, glow novelties to event managing your full teen disco or function, with everything a teenager could want and more.
Kim has combined all her skills under one Umbrella to develop her Company “Boogie Productions”
